Got Data?

What’s your data moment?

A tap. A trip. A photo. A game. Our everyday actions can make data. Your picture can help someone see the connection, ask a question, and learn.

Your turn / a free community image challenge

Make a picture. Start a conversation.

01 / MAKE IT

Show a data moment.

Use a photo, artwork, or AI image you have permission to share. “Got Data?” is the question.

02 / EXPLAIN IT

Give the picture a purpose.

What facts might this moment create? What should people learn or ask?

03 / PASS IT ON

Bring someone to learn.

Share a gallery image or invite a friend. Help more people see how data touches daily life.

Adults 18+ / add your idea

Your view can
help others see.

Send your best Got Data? image and a short data story. You do not need to be a data expert.

NDS will review entries for creativity, a clear link to data, and respectful content. Selected images may be featured with the name or credit you choose.

Your entry is a contribution to the conversation. After sending it, you can share an invitation and keep learning.

How the image challenge works

This is a free, editor-selected community showcase hosted by National Data System. Entries are open to adults 18 and older. The current campaign pictures are NDS examples.

NDS reviews entries using creativity, a clear educational link to data, and respectful content. Entries are reviewed before being added to the public gallery. Submit an image you created or have permission to use. Tell us whether AI helped make it. Keep private records and screens out of the image.

You keep ownership of your work. By submitting, you give NDS non-exclusive permission to display your submitted image, title, story, and public credit on GotData.info and social posts that promote this learning project. NDS may resize or crop it for these uses. Your email is for entry follow-up and stays out of the public gallery.

There is no entry fee. No cash prize or closing date has been announced. Any future prize, deadline, or formal contest rules will be posted before that contest opens. A submission does not guarantee a feature.

To request removal of an entry, use the project inquiry form with your entry reference and the email you used. NDS can remove copies it controls. Copies already shared by other people may remain.

Entry terms version 1.1.0 · October 17, 2026.

One JPG, PNG, or WebP. Up to 5 MB. A portrait image works well. Keep private screens, addresses, and personal records out of the picture.

For adults with files / the other side of Got Data?

A picture starts the talk. Records can deepen it.

Old spreadsheets. A folder of reports. Years of records. Your next useful discovery may start with what you already have.

Describe a possible data project ↓

A few places to start

Plain files. Useful possibilities.

A store’s old sales sheets

Which items sell in each season? A checked table could help plan next month’s stock.

Years of repair records

Which faults keep coming back? A pattern could help a team decide what to inspect.

A stack of public reports

Could the tables become searchable? A careful archive could help people find a fact faster.

Possible projects, not promises of value. A pattern is a clue to check, not proof of a cause.

From what you have to what you need to know.

01 / DESCRIBE

Start with a question.

What kinds of files do you have? What would a useful answer help you decide?

02 / AGREE

Make a written plan.

Set permission, confidentiality, access, allowed uses, security, fees, and rights to results.

03 / EXPLORE

Check and connect.

Review dates, units, gaps, and place codes. Keep a clear trail of where the facts came from.

04 / EXPLAIN

Make the answer useful.

A project might lead to a chart, map, report, cleaned table, or regularly updated tool.

Describe your files.
Keep the files with you.

Tell us the file types, broad places, years, and your question. NDS can discuss a possible review with you.

Do not upload or paste private records. Access and terms must be agreed in writing before a private review. Sending this form does not create a contract or a confidentiality agreement.

The form records “GotData.info” as the inquiry source so NDS can tell which entry point you used.
